An additional of 1.335GHz from the stock frequency of 3.3GHz shows a tremendous increased in its performance and smoothness in frame rate in various games. I presume that when a 2600K processor is used you can go further than these results. But as far as we got the following outcome, this motherboard shows a very impressive performance.

In April 2010, Apple announced that they had dusted off the tired idea of the tablet that had all but died a decade earlier and that they were going to, once again, change the technology landscape. They have since succeeded in doing just that with the release of the iPad 2 in 2011 again establishing the successful Apple brand as king of the mobile platform. Over a year late to the party, RIM, the creators of the famed BlackBerry, have decided to give the tablet a go.

Hoping to crack into the same market as Apple, BlackBerry has announced the release of Playbook tablet for £399, the same price as the iPad 2. Unable to stray from their past, Blackberry is sticking by its traditionally suited mentality as the choice for businessmen by touting the Playbook as “the world’s first professional grade tablet”. It is set to flawlessly integrate with any of the BlackBerry handsets such as the Curve 8520, by letting you view your BBM, email, calendar and address book from either device via the new BlackBerry Bridge.

Early reviews have been positive about the technical aspects of the Playbook, especially the ability to multitask. With a 1 GHz duel-core processor, the Playbook is perfectly capable of browsing the news on the internet while simultaneously having a face-to-face chat with a friend across the city on one of the tablet’s two 1080p HD cameras. There are numerous apps available from the Blackberry App Store and Android, and there is plenty of power to run them with the 1 GB of RAM and 16, 32 or 64 gigs of storage space.

But can it compete with the iPad?

Despite having some pretty outstanding specs and what looks to be a smooth operating system, it is incredibly doubtful that it will in any way ease the stranglehold that Apple has on the tablet market. Why? Trust and reliability will factor into it. The fact that Apple are well established in a market that they single-handedly created will be hard for many to get past even if it is a subconscious reason. When somebody wants a tablet it is because Apple told them they wanted a tablet. And when somebody pictures one in their head, they picture an iPad first and everything else, if there is anything else, second.

Usability will also be a factor in the decision making process. Apple is renowned for being user friendly. BlackBerry is renowned for having a platform that is quirky and more conservative. In keeping with this, coolness will be a factor. When you pull an iPad 2 out of your bag everybody around you knows that you are on the cutting edge of hip, probably on your way to the latest Apple keynote. When you pull a BlackBerry out of your bag (or in this case, a Playbook) everybody around you assumes that you are on your way to a teleconference with your stock-broker. Snooze.

The Playbook is a good platform. The Playbook may easily be one of the best products RIM has ever released. But the Playbook will never be the iPad. And if they are the same price, why risk it?

Four years ago, the technology industry would have shrugged off any rumours of Apple attempting enter the mobile phone market. At the time, Nokia was the market leader, touchscreen phones were just entering the mainstream and Apple was still very much a computer software and hardware manufacturer. But Steve Jobs surprised the technology world at 2007’s MacWorld expo when he finally lift the lid on the much rumoured iPhone.

The Californian technology giant shook up the smartphone industry by making sure that the phone it offered was well-integrated into a tight computing ecosystem. They also made sure that many of the components used to make up its mobile phone were of the highest quality.

Unfortunately, technology reviewers have been less than enthusiastic about some of the decisions Apple has made with its iOS software. Prominent technology journalists complained about the original iPhone due its lack of copy and pasting features, something rival platforms had long supported.

Another feature long complained about by users was the iPhone’s notification system. Notifications would pop up on top of whatever application was currently open. This made managing incoming messages a difficult job as a notification was created for each new message that arrived, meaning if you received 20 emails whilst you were not using your phone, there would be 20 notifications waiting for you to take action on.

Apple have long been rumoured to be making improvements to its notifications interface after it emerged that the company had hired the former Palm developer Rich Dellinger as its new Senior User Interface Designer last year. Dellinger had formerly been involved with Palm’s webOS, creating the unobtrusive and highly rated notifications system.

Earlier this month, Apple finally unveiled one of the biggest improvements to the iOS ecosystem at the launch of iOS 5. Gone was the pop up dialog requesting immediate action and in came a solution that looked incredibly similar to what its rival Android offered. New notifications would slide in from the top for a few seconds and then disappear.

Users could interact with all notifications on the phone by simply swiping a drawer down from the top of the screen. Whilst Apple fans have lauded the decision to implement a better notification system, Android die-hards online are up in arms after finding the solution closely resembles what Android offers its users.

Pablo Picasso famously said ‘good artists copy, great artists steal’, a quote Steve Jobs also used when interviewed about the development of the Apple Macintosh in 1994. It would very well seem that Apple has stolen the ‘new’ notifications system from its rivals. But in true Apple fashion, it has made sure that its iteration works in a much superior fashion compared to its Android and webOS counterparts.

Dynamics AX ERP Programming and How to Handle It in Large Organization

There is no question about AX flexibility and being exposed to various customization, integration and reporting instruments. Important in our opinion is methodology and control over the future events, such as compatibility with service packs, version upgrade, redeployment on the new server, etc. These questions are especially important, as newly released version 2012 opens AX for .Net developers in Microsoft Visual Studio interacting with Metadata and X++ compiled into CIL. Let’s take a look at the options and try to weigh risks and opportunities. This small publication is not necessary designed for computer programmer, as it is rather could be classified as introduction level:

1. MorphX IDE and X++ programming language. The coding syntax is pretty close to C++, C# or Java (in 2012 X++ supports events). However keep in mind that MorphX and X++ are serving Axapta architecture and they are indivisible from its Metadata: Tables, Forms, Queries, Reports. Three tiers Corporate ERP architecture also has its specific, as developer should have the way to direct code execution on AOS (Application Server) or directly on end client Windows workstation. All these statements should cool down brave C# and VB developer heads. MorphX and X++ were abstracting former Axapta from database and operating system platform dependency. And by being close in syntax to C programming languages family – they probably contributed in spreading Axapta on the mid-market Corporate ERP niche

2. Customization Project. Should we code in X++ or go ahead and hire experienced generic Microsoft Visual Studio.Net software developers with C# skills? In our opinion the answer on that question requires further clarification. If all you are planning is small scope modification and you are confident that in the future you will have programmers available to review the C# code and make it compatible with future version and reprogram in the sense of switching from deprecated methods to new ones – then MS Visual Studio is probably the way to go. On the other hand, if you plan to launch major modification – then we would recommend you to be conservative and consider traditional tools, such as MorphX

3. Custom Programming versus Creating New Tables, Queries and Forms in Metadata. One of the key messages on Convergence 2011, where version 2012 was demonstrated was the recommendation to create custom objects and forms without single line of programming. Custom objects could be created in MorphX Metadata not only for Windows application, but also for Enterprise Portal (web based interface). The presenter also demoed how newly created custom objects could be wrapped and distributed as web services without coding. We know that large percentage of modifications is presented by the need to create custom tables – and we believe this is a good opportunity. We were shown how web service could be called from Microsoft Excel. However we also would like to stress that it is a good way to open AX for Linux world, Unix and custom Oracle database. SOAP protocol and XML web service are computer platform neutral, as they are based on the structured text stream. We were impressed with the innovations, however we still believe that large strata of custom projects require some X++ animation

4. Internationalization. Axapta was initially targeted to international Corporate ERP market, when it was architected in Denmark back in late 1990th. It supports such international tricks as Unicode (languages based in hieroglyphs for example). It is important to mention that Microsoft Business Solutions is making substantial efforts in keeping AX as localized Corporate ERP offer in the majority of World regions, including Brazil, China, Russia, UK, Europe, USA and Canada, Arabic Countries. Such advantages as Process Manufacturing (good choice in food processing, mining, oil and gas drilling), Distribution and Supply Chain Management, plus Fund Management support in GL in version 2012 (opening this application for non-for-profit organizations). By its initial plan, Axapta was very strong in such international business areas as multicurrency, support to the gamut of Sales, VAT, GST taxes variations. If you are working for multinational company and you are programming AX – be sure that you understand label concept. The text, which could be potentially translated to the foreign language should be implemented as Label

5. ERP Brand Name Competition. Let’s talk about Microsoft Dynamics ERP family first. Here in the United States such flagman as Dynamics GP or formerly known as Great Plains Dynamics has larger number of active and passive (no longer used in production) installations. GP is a good choice especially when you are in generic AP/AR/GL business model. GP also has pretty advanced Distribution suite of modules. However Great Plains is somewhat restricted if you are expanding internationally. It doesn’t support Unicode, is not localized in Russia, Brazil, China, Japan, Korea. It has presence in Spanish Central and South America, English speaking countries, Arabic World. In our opinion Great Plains is also strong in Integration Tools, such as Integration Manager, where you can handle pretty complex data import and ongoing migration scenarios without coding or even doing even driven programming in VBA. Dynamics NAV or former Navision – former Navision Software was acquired by Microsoft in earlier 2000th. In time Navision was making market penetration steps into USA, and it held large market share in Europe. NAV currently is offering more versions localized internationally, comparing to GP, but the number of countries is definitely fewer, comparing to AX. SAP Business One or internationalized offer from SAP Corporate ERP giant. SB1 is localized worldwide (with exception to Arabic countries). This application is dedicated to lower mid-market and small businesses, where we do not see such features as batch posting. However Israel originated accounting, small business ERP and MRP application is very smart, flexible and robust. It might be recommended for small international office, where consolidated financial reporting could be done by exporting SBO GL trial balance into Excel and then integrated in FRx or Microsoft Management Reporter

6. Competition on local markets. Let’s begin with Russian Federation. Here we see strong market share taken by locally developed 1S Bukhgalteria (in Russia we use German accounting terminology, to translate it into English it would sound like 1C Accounting). This Accounting system might be considered as having advantages in connection to RF tax authorities and supporting Russian government controlled GL Accounts code. Let’s not move to Brazil, where we would like to mention Microsiga. It is in our opinion symmetric to 1C Accounting in Russia in its advantages. Well, there are disadvantages as well, the biggest one is centralized control limitation
